Another sporadic post

Once again i've not posted an entry in some time. Life as usual has been quite boring, but there are a few things i think i can remark on this time. My roommates and I had a Halloween party the weekend before the 31st, it was ok. the best part was the fire in the backyard. I was pretty much the only person helping to keep the fire going, but people came and went from the fire so i had people to talk to atleast. luckily brad (aka bradams, brad adams) and stan duttlinger (+wife) showed up to keep me company. the rest of the people who showed were just wannabe drunks drinking things they don't like while acting like they love it.

I bought a second car, a 2000 honda accord. it's pretty much exactly what i need, good gas mileage and something to drive around town and back and forth to work so i dont put miles on the Trans Am. too bad it's an automatic :\

As far as my spare time, i've been playing World of Warcraft still. it's a good addiction to waste so many hours of spare time.

The highlight of the past couple months is when i was at Ops (a pizza restaurant) the waitress there gave me her number when i went up to pay. wierd thing was i didnt initiate the conversation...i'm still trying to get ahold of her to go on a first date. i don't know anything about her yet. we'll see, i hope.

Yesterday i went to an In Flames concert in jacksonville :)

some crappy band, evergreen and throwdown opened for them. evergreen was ok, but the other two were fucking terrible. In Flames wasnt as good as i was hoping but still good. I went with one of my roommates, but he's not much into metal. i was worried the whole time he didn't absolutely hate it but he said he had an ok time.

Once again i'm updating, but sadly there isn't much to talk about this time. Work has been going ok, i've been able to get out of a lot of it and spending less time at work is always a good thing. I'm still in search of a new car, been rather lazy about it the last few days. perhaps i can go out this weekend and look at some more car lots again. so unmotivated. My roommate is in the process of buying an '02 nissan frontier, so he can get rid of the p.o.s. car he has now, thats about to explode every time he drives it.

other then that...i cant find anything to talk about.

Been looking for another car lately. haven't found anything that's really fit what i want. Of course i think i'm going to have to spend alot more then i want to, to get a car i'd be happy with. I wish i could just get a crappy car and be happy.

As far as WoW goes...

The guild has been doing pretty good, we've killed Ragnaros and Onyxia now. hopefully soon we can do Onyxia without the alliance.

I finally got my car back a couple days ago. they did a wonderful job and i am quite happy with it. makes me really happy i have insurance that covered the accident because the total bill came close to $2500, of which i needed to only pay a $500 deductible. I even took the first step to getting another car as a drive around town/back and forth to work vehicle. I now have the loan check in my possession and i'm ready to start my search...

Work is going pretty well now that i'm senior in rate qualified. if there is no work to be done in the office, i'm not there. no more 7-4 days. now i think i'll get away with working less then 30 hours every week. only thing that sucks is now we are required to PT 3 times a week with the command.

Well, thats about it for now.

I said i'd try to update more, so here i go.

My car is still in the shop, they said they wont get it out until next week sometime, right now they are waiting on parts. Tomorrow i start work again, no more vacation :\. I'm hoping work wont suck as much as i think it will. as long as i dont have to stay in the office that much each week i'll be happy. if i'm at 30 hours a week or less i'll consider that a victory.

Last night i saw Slither and V for Vendetta. slither was good, in the context that it was a b-movie spoof type film. the classic meteor falls to earth and aliens take people over storyline. V for Vendetta was actually suprisingly good. when i had seen the preview i thought it wouldnt be very good but it ended up being quite enjoyable. if you have ever read the books '1984' or 'farenheit 451' you'd appreciate this movie. I also bought the movie Fight Club. i still dont understand why it's taken me so long to buy this movie...since it's my favorite.

Well, finally decided to update this thing. I know it's been months since my last update, and there is really too much to catch up on. I'll probably keep this short and simple. As you can tell, i'm back from sea, and now living in my own house. Recently i've had a roommate move in to help split the cost/etc. Couple of weeks ago I hit a deer with my car. Damaged the front driver's side corner. Looks worse then it was because it took off alot of paint, and messed the headlight up so it wouldnt go down anymore. Last Monday i took it in to get repaired, hopefully i'll have it back by the end of the week. Right now i'm sitting home alone with no way to get around really. My roommate is home visiting family and friends and so are most of my co-workers. I don't have any local friends so i've been playing alot of World of Warcraft lately. well, the car is at the shop and waiting to be tuned. no more problems with the car, just the software the guy needs to program the car's computer for the tune. i guess the tech support guy for the software is working on the problem and until he fixes it the car cant be tuned.

but...its not tuned yet, but its running. reason its not tuned is there are a few wires that are too close to the turbos and have to be moved before it can go on the dyno to be tuned. so hopefully this happens soon...getting anxious

I've been away from the internet for awhile. my life has been pretty busy lately, for a change. i've moved out of the barracks and into the house i'm going to buy from a co-worker thats leaving to work in texas. so all my stuff is in boxes and until yesterday i didnt even have a place for my computer to sit. I just got dsl hooked up and pretty soon i plan on posting the pictures i took during the install of my twin turbo kit on my trans am. the car still isnt running though. it needs to go down and get tuned. hopefully the car will get taken down there tomorrow.

so, i actually got a kiss yesterday. on the cheek. from a girl. of course it meant nothing but it just made me realize it was the first time its happened in almost 4 years.

mon 14th: oil pan gasket, header gaskets coming in. need to order fuel injectors.

tue 15th: i should be able to move all my stuff out of my barracks room and into Cowling's old house. I should also be getting the oil pan for my car.

wed 16th: small chance of actually starting on my car, most likely will have to wait till the weekend. should be able to check out of the barracks for good, and thus start getting money for living off base.

woke up at 10, dragged myself out of bed and went to the post office to pick up my packages from my parents. they sent me the original star wars boxed dvd set (widescreen), a luis royo book and a vacuum cleaner for my car. i'm pretty happy with what i got, now i just need to send out the gifts i got them...yes this late.

then i went to the auto hobby shop on base and tried to fix my headlight problem, to no avail. i think i have it figured out though and i'll take a stab at it tomorrow.

later i went to tires plus and found a set of 4 rather cheap performance tires to replace my old ones. they were $140 a tire which isnt bad, and i'm sure they'll last just about as long as a more expensive tire. i'm kind of glad i managed to buy cheap tires, i tend to try and get the best of everything. especially when it comes to my car. the tires seem pretty sticky but i havent really had a chance to test them, i'll have to go to the track and see if i can get some faster 60ft times. here is a pic of my shredded tire, its rather dark and hard to make out but its the only one i have.

with the new tires on the car i had to take the opportunity to wash my car, i would of waxed it too but the sun was setting and started to get dark.

last saturday i left kings bay and drove the ~280 miles to largo fl (near tampa) to my sister kelly's place. i hadn't seen her in about 5 years so it was nice to meet her again and her family. her daughter rhianna is now 7...growing up so fast. also met her new husband joe. nice guy from what i saw.

on sunday kelly rhianna and i left from there to orlando to go to universal studios and islands of adventure. we went to islands of adventure first. it was pretty fun. they have two good rollercoasters, the hulk and dueling dragons. the hulk was really fun and fast, but the dueling dragons were cool because it was actually two rollercoasters intertwined so that they passed within a few feet of each other at some points. i think the best ride besides the rollercoasters was the spiderman right. it was unlike anything i'd ever seen before. you got into a vehicle that rides a track similar to a rollercoaster but its powered the entire way. it moved to different areas and tilted to give the impression of movement while we moved to different areas that had huge screens with 3d background and characters on them (we had to wear 3d glasses). the illusions were just really good. when spiderman jumped onto the front of the vehicle even i jumped back it was so suprising. i had no idea they could create 3d illusions like that. we also went on a few of the water rides there, the jurassic park ride was pretty fun even though i got really wet. the rocky and bullwinkle logride was actually pretty good and it had a drop so steep i couldnt see the track it was nearly a freefall into a pitchblack tunnel at the bottom.

monday we went to universal studios. it had a lot cooler attractions but the rides themselves werent up to par with the quality found at islands of adventure. the terminator 2 attraction wasnt quite a ride but more of a show with actors and 3d effects like spiderman but it was still really fun. the e.t. ride was pretty lame in my opinion. it was just a slow ride through some scenery basically. the back to the future ride was ok but it wasnt 3d like some of the others. the men in black ride didnt interest me at all you just rode around with a laser gun and shot and cardboard aliens that popped up. we didnt go on the jaws ride because it was a water ride and it was freezing monday. the earthquake ride was pretty cool. you ride a tram into a subway center then an "8.3" earthquake hit and tore everything up pretty bad. the mummy ride was probably the best there, it incorporated a moving vehicle with cool effects and a rollercoaster. also the people at the mummy attraction were cool because as you get on they were all very in character talking about us as sacrifices and whatnot. the twister attraction was pretty fun to watch, you just walked onto these bleachers with a few of a gas station, drive in movie theatre and a couple other buildings and trucks. then the wind starts blowing, rain falls and you see a tornado in the distance. then they actually make a funnel cloud right in front of the bleachers and everything starts to get ripped up. the trucks slide around and the buildings start falling apart.

i enjoyed going and hope i can go again someday.

the rest of the week i did nothing but sit at kelly's house and watch tv. it was relaxing atleast.

then on xmas day i drove back to kings bay. it rained the entire time. then i got a flat tire. *pop* "wtf" *flumpflumpflump* "fuck.." *pulls over*

it was my first flat tire, and it sucked because it was cold and rainy. now i need new tires *sigh*

oh, and i cant open presents til monday because they are all at the post office still.

xmas vacation

so i'm actually going to do something on my xmas leave. i never was planning on going home to see my parents in minnesota so i didnt think i was going to do much at all. now i'm planning on going to visit my sister kelly in florida then go to universal studios with her for a couple days. i havent seen her for 5 years so it should be interesting to say the least. alot of catching up to do i'm sure. not to mention i've always wanted to go to a place like universal because growing up i never had the chance (unlike everyone else). after all that i plan on visiting kennedy space center on my way back up to georgia too. too bad they arent planning on launching any shuttles until may-ish timeframe but i still want to see the site and all the cool shit there.

oh, and i think the driver side pop up headlight on my t/a is fucked up now, which is just great. it still works but it makes a funny noise when it goes down.
